JOINING
Membership in the trade union grants you competent help in different aspects of working life, earnings-linked unemployment insurance and other useful advantages.
Membership is open to all those employed on a fulltime basis or studying in the field of art and culture, and which are approved as members by the Board of TAKU.
The membership fee for TAKU is 1.3% of the income subject to withholding tax, or as calculated from the gross salary. You can choose to pay the fee yourself or authorise your employer to pay it on your behalf. The membership fee entitles you to all the services provided by TAKU, Akava Special Branches and ERKO Unemployment Fund.
You can join TAKU as a student and ensure your benefits well in advance of your graduation. A membership fee is only collected from student members if the minimum employment requirement is met; in other words, if the student is working a minimum of 18 h/week. Otherwise, students are exempt from having to pay the membership fee.
The membership fee for self-employed professionals is a fixed annual fee (confirmed annually), which includes all of the benefits with the exception of the unemployment insurance.
